Devil’s Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride Report

We were stoked to have 26 riders join us for the first Devil’s Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride with The Gear Change. Was quite a sight to see everyone winding their way up through Mowbray in Peak evening traffic.

Devil's Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride 03Some world class banter from all in what was a very pleasant trip up to the Blockhouse. Calibre of rider was very impressive with everyone deciding to take the Cape Epic single track on the way down. Injuries were minimal with only one Shaun Dunbar polishing the side of the mountain (nice guy). The speed of riding back to the Gear Change was something to behold, although we are 90% sure this had to do with the burritos and Devil’s Peak beers back at the shop.

Devil's Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride 04Bang Bang Burrito was a hit so you can expect to see the guys again at the next event, provisionally booked for the 25th of January. The beers flowed all evening with even the stragglers leaving six of Devil’s Peak’s Lagers in the bottom of the cooler at the end of the night – full disclosure, they were not there when we went back to the shop.

Devil's Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride 00We had a couple of giveaways with Dave Russel winning a Devil’s Peak Cycling Jersey and tickets to the Cape Town Festival of Beer with this cracking shot below. Well done Dave, what size are you?

Our other winner for the evening, Scip Vernede picked himself up a R500 voucher to the Gear Change. The guys at the Gear Change will sort you out Scip. Enjoy it!

We will be working on setting up the next event soon so please follow us on Facebook and Twitter for those details as we have them. There will be an additional 5 spots available for the January ride and we expect these to go pretty quickly so be sure to sign up once the event is live.

As this was the first event we would love to have your feedback. Drop us a mail or just leave a comment below. For the mean time, that’s it. Thanks for joining us!
