The 8th Cape Town Festival of Beer hits Hamilton’s Rugby Club from the 1st to the 3rd of December. We’ve always been a fan of the Festival, it’s hard not to be. With over 200 different brews coming from over 60 breweries it’s a must for any beer lover in the Cape.
The Festival runs over three days – Friday being a post work wind-down, Saturday being a party second-to-none and Sunday being a more mellow outing to really just hang out and appreciate some cracking beer. During all of this there are live bands, food stalls, and inevitably some beer pong, chili eating competition, or a celebrity boat race going on (click here to watch Ard Matthews lose last year).

Anyway, with a month to go to the Festival we have managed to get ourselves two pairs of Tickets to go through on Sunday the 3rd of December. We’re going to give these away to two beer thirsty cyclists. All you need to do is leave a comment below letting us know what your ideal ride is before heading through to the Festival and which beer would you order first. Simple as that.
We’ll select two winners on the 10th of November (will be a fairly cracking start to the weekend no?). Right, on with it!
It would probably be a TREK FX 2 and ordering a Striped Horse Lager
Newlands corridor Mtb ride on Spez Epic 2018
A quick spin down Bottelary rd & up the R304. A brief stop at Wild Clover Brewery for a Blind Mole & then back home through the vineyards. First pint at the CTFOB will be a Wild Clover Double Owl.
I’ll be sweating over Helshoogte Pass peddling the Stellenbosch Cycle Tour so a Striped Horse Pilsner will hit the spot as my brew!
Well my ride would be Fat Tyre 21 Gear and will be crashing into a Dark IPA.
I will of course cycle there.. I’ll take the long way around.. heading though the streets of the city in my perfectly flowery dress on my Matt black Rook fixed gear with my Volcano Bluetooth blasta strapped to me with recycled 25c tubes playing old school Led Zeppelin…yip. That would be the perfect ride to a beer festival.
I’ll be rushing through in a CB-USA-R1. Off to Jack Black for a Cape Pale Ale
There ain’t nothing like the challenge of coming back over Suikerbossie when doing the round trip from the city centre to Cape Point. This route on the day will generate a thirst like none other, a thirst that only a CBC Amber Weiss would quench!
Can’t wait!
Blouberg to theewaterskloof dam via franschhoek pass – finishing off with a Saggy Stone Rocky River Pale Ale
@CTCycleTour still my favourite
From Nordhoek. Over chappies. Swing past all the ladies in camps bay, high 5 the boys at sea point, arrive at the stadium and glug down a pilsner from striped horse.
