We’ve been on the hop train recently, maybe its because were heading into summer, maybe its because we’ve had our eyes opened recently, or maybe, just maybe, it’s because they are so. dam. good. This brings us to this weeks featured beer – The Mad Giant Urban Legend IPA. You’ve probably seen the beers on the shelves and thought “those look cool”, and then you’ve moved on with your standard purchase. Let’s change that.
Based in Joburg, Mad Giant is now producing five different brews, all of which are available from bottlestores. They do a Pale Ale, a Pilsner, Amber Ale, Weiss, and this IPA. If you’re based in Joburg you can actually visit the brewery at 1 Fox Street. Give them a call, book a brewery tour and stick around for a meal and a couple of beers after. We haven’t been able to make a trip there yet but we would love to hear from anyone who has.
Their website pretty accurately describes this beer. For anyone wanting to try something new this week the Mad Giant Urban Legend IPA is our recommendation, a good beer from guys who are passionate about what they do. To really test it out pick up a Devil’s Peak Kings Blockhouse IPA – an award winning benchmark IPA. Good beer to test it against.
We unfortunately don’t have a giveaway this week which, all the more reason for you to try this beer. Hell, pick up one of each and do a tasting with some mates.
