The 2nd Devil’s Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride

The 25th of January will see the 2nd Devil’s Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride take place. At the end of 2017 we had 30 riders make their way up to the Blockhouse with a whole lot of banter along the way (ride report here). This first Beer Ride of 2018 will see 40 riders do much the same but with more banter, more giveaways and more beer. There are only 30 spots available to purchase so best do so quickly (read on to find out why).

Devil's Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride

Ensuring ample sustenance back at The Gear Change the guys from Bang Bang Burrito will be back, serving up hot, custom burritos from the moment you get off your bike. To wash it all down Devil’s Peak beers will be in abundance ensuring we tick all the boxes for this Beer Ride.

If you would like to get your hands on a Devil’s Peak Jersey for the ride we will have them available on the evening. Alternatively drop us a mail and we can make sure you’re aptly kitted out.

Cost: Tickets are R125 and are available here. Buy your tickets before Sunday the 21st and stand to win one of three Bontrager Flare R Lights (valued at R850 each). There are just 30 spots available so best make haste and get it done soon. Your ticket covers all your food and beers – of which we will make sure there is plenty.

Agenda:

  • 17h30 Registration at The Gear Change in Mowbray
  • 18h00 Welcome and briefing
  • 18h05 Get on bikes and head for the Blockhouse
  • 20h00 Burritos and Devil’s Peak Beers at The Gear Change
  • 20h30 Prizes and Giveaway

Route: The route is somewhat up to you, your fitness and your experience level. We will be starting the ride by climbing up through Mowbray and into the University – from here, the route you take up, and down, is entirely up to you. Our recommendation, find the riders you’re on par with and stick with them.

Pace: The Devil’s Peak Blockhouse Beer Ride is exactly that, a Beer Ride. We’re not looking to break Strava records but do understand that everyone has their own comfortable pace of riding. So, make sure you’ve got a mate and do it at your own pace – all the fun stuff happens back at The Gear Change at 20h00 which should give you more than enough time to get to the Blockhouse and back again.
