The Southyeasters Homebrewers Club are a group of beer enthusiasts based in the Western Cape. Each month they meet to discuss all-things-beer. They chat brews, ingredients, trends, all while sinking back a couple of pints over the course of the evening. They are a great club to get involved with if you have any aspirations of brewing some reasonable beer or if you just really like your beer.
Each year the club puts on the Southyeasters Summer Festival – the biggest homebrewers competition in South Africa, with over 50 brewers bringing over 100 beers to taste. This year the Festival is taking place at the Jack Black Brewery, and you’re all invited. Along with some unusual beers (Passion Fruit Saison, Bacon Pale Ale and a White IPA to name a few), you’ll meet the brewers themselves and be treated to food trucks.
Your ticket gets you entry and your tasting glass which lets you sample all the beers on show. Once you’ve tasted your way around you will be voting for your best homebrews in the all-important People’s Choice Award. Tickets are available from Quicket.
Win tickets to the Southyeasters Summer Festival
The Southyeasters were kind enough to give us a couple of tickets to giveaway. They are nice like that. To enter, head on over to our Facebook Page and leave a comment on this post letting us know who you would take. We will choose a winner on Friday the 23rd. What’s particularly exciting about homebrews is that you can’t buy these beers anywhere. This is a once off opportunity to try them.
