We’re almost ashamed it has taken us this long to feature this beer. The Beer Country & Fraser’s Folly Moer Koffie Stout has been around for a couple of years now. That was never the plan, it was just so damn popular the guys decided to make it a more frequent brew. So, here you have it.
The Moer Koffie Condensed milk stout is a collaboration between Frasers Folly Brewery and the guys from Beer Country (Karl Tessendorf and Greg Gilowey). We really ought to elaborate on both Fraser’s Folly and Beer Country but we just couldn’t do it justice if we were going to do them together so we will be sure to feature them both independently in coming months.
For now, all you really need to know is that Fraser Crighton (of Fraser’s Folly) knows his way around a brewery. While Karl and Greg, when they’re not creating gourmet braai broodjies, they’re conceptualizing all matter of tasty treat. You may have inadvertently seen their work both on the Beertime Hop Tour and at the Fools&Fans Beer Festival, they are very good at what they do.
The totally unapologetic and authentic label reads:
This is not just a beer. It’s a story of one Soutie, two South Africans, a bonfire next to a shipwreck on the tip of Africa, and way too many stouts. Hell, we’re surprised we even remembered the idea the next morning, but here it is! Our moerkoffie condensed milk stout is best enjoyed in a camping chair next to a roaring fire.
We can’t be sure of how much they produce each time they do a brew but we can tell you that it never lasts very long. It has become a very popular beer over the last couple of years. So, for this weekend give it a go and let us know what you think.
