Come the 4th of August the Fourth annual Woodstock Winter Beer Festival will be descending upon the Castle of Good Hope. Managed by the scallywags over at the Drifter Brewing Co this Festival focuses on once off brews done specially for the Festival. We’ve talked about the “winter warmer” brews recently (Camelthorn and Woodstock), so expect a lot of barrel aged, high alcohol beers. Just what you need to keep warm.

With 16 breweries confirmed for attendance there will be no shortage to go around. And, while the beer is absolutely the main attraction, there will also be food pods, music and games. For a Saturday afternoon in Cape Town it does sound like a mighty fine idea.Β

Early Bird tickets have already sold out but you can still buy online. They are R80 and are available on Quicket. Get them online, avoid the queues and the extra R20 it will cost you at the door.
To top it, when the crew at Drifter are involved they always go the extra mile to do their bit for those who are less well off. So, this year they are collecting donations for NOAH (Neighborhood Old Age Homes), an organization providing independent services and advocacy to pensioners living in the area. You can make a monetary donation when you buy your ticket or bring the following to the festival to donate:
- Non-perishable food (canned goods, oil, beans, rice)
- Unwanted clothes or shoes that are in good condition for them to sell in their second-hand shop
- Blankets, jackets and items for the winter season
Now to the finale. We have a pair of tickets to give away and we’re going to keep it simple. To enter just comment below with which brewery you are most excited to see at the Festival. Winner will be selected and contacted on Monday the 23rd of July. Good luck!Β
Cheers!Β
