Friday Beer – Stellenbosch Brewing Co. Mass Hoppiness IPA

Welcome to post IPA Day 2018. Just because it’s over it doesn’t mean we’re not going to put yet another IPA out there. So, here we have the Stellenbosch Brewing Co. Mass Hoppiness IPA breaming with hoppy goodness and waiting to be given a chance! This is the Friday Beer.

If you’re new to the Barley&Hops blog you may not know that we have featured a Stellenbosch Brewing Co. before. Way back in December their Eike Stout won not just Best Dark Beer but also Best on Show at the Cape Town Festival of Beer (post here). Those awards can actually be seen in the pic above alongside a couple of others that brewer Bruce Collins boasts amongst his collection.

These awards are important, it lets you know that this is a man who knows what he is doing. This, the Mass Hoppiness IPA itself won a silver at the National Beer Trophy in 2017 and there’s a good reason for that. It’s good, it’s “double dry-hopped tropical and citrus bliss” good.

When we last wrote about the Stellenbosch Brewing Co. we had not yet managed to visit them at their Taproom. Now, although Bruce wasn’t around, we have, and it’s a fantastic spot to while away a sunny afternoon. There is plenty of space so you shouldn’t even worry about booking before. We highly recommend heading out there.

With the weekend here get to your favourite Liquor Store and get your hands on a couple of bottles. As always, we would love to know what you think so get in touch with us on social. Be sure to also let Bruce and the team at Stellenbosch Brewing Co. know your thoughts.
