Full disclosure, we are very involved with The Cape Town Festival of Beer. We’ve been part of the team for 5 years now and it has had a significant influence in what Barley&Hops is today. With all this said it also gives us access to tickets to give away. So that is exactly what we are going to do. Details to follow.
Now in it’s 9th year the Cape Town Festival of Beer is the brain child of Martin Tucker. It has grown quite significantly over the years and now boasts over 200 different beers from more than 60 breweries. You will find all the usual suspects you love such as Devil’s Peak and the Cape Brewing Co, but you will also find a few new ones. This year the Rosebank Brewing Co, The Italian Job and Diesel & Dust will all be making an appearance for the first time.
A comprehensive beer judging takes place where the following beers are all awarded:
- Best on Show
- Best Lager
- Best Hoppy Beer
- Best Dark Beer
- Best Wheat Beer
- Best Specialty Beer
The results are never disappointing and you will want to be there to appreciate them in full. One of the great pleasures of the Festival is that you will also have the opportunity to meet the brewers behind the brews. We know first hand just how keen they are to chat about their beers so it’s not something you want to miss out on.
On top of all the beer there is also live entertainment, food trucks and plenty of activations and giveaways. We’re not just saying it because we’re involved but it really is a tremendous outing. So, how to win tickets?
We’ve got 2 pairs of tickets for each day to give away and you can enter for each day. Winners will be chosen at random on Facebook and Twitter and we will make final decision on Instagram.
